The best time to visit Taiwan is usually October to April. Spring and autumn are especially lovely.
How Long to Visit
Around 7–10 days in Taiwan works well for a first trip. If you want a slower trip with hiking, hot springs and smaller towns, 10–14 days.

Taiwan is one of the easiest countries to travel around independently. Taiwan High Speed Rail is useful for travelling down the west coast
Cash vs Cards
Taiwan is card-friendly in many hotels, malls and bigger restaurants, but cash is still useful. Carry cash for night markets, small eateries, buses, temples and small towns.
